Begin with an empty slate. At every level, choose the skill that brings your class into focus.
Start with no skills. Each level offers six choices for the next Active or Passive slot. Pick one and watch it join your action bar. Three choices are Offensive. Rarity is rolled separately for each card, so Epic and Legendary finds are uncommon. After your twelfth choice, your skill combination reveals your class.

Your twelve skills have shaped a class. Now take that build into battle. Press 1–6 to cast from your action bar.
Click one Active and one Passive skill on your action bar. They gain XP while focused. After this introduction, you can swap Focus on the bar whenever another skill choice is not in progress.

At each weekly reset, the Entity removes exactly one active and one passive skill. Your two protected skills are safe. For each loss, choose a replacement of the same kind from an offering of eight active and eight passive skills.
Guard one active and one passive from the weekly claim. The Entity takes one unprotected active and one unprotected passive. Choose one replacement of each kind from sixteen fresh, randomly drawn cards. Legendary skills are likely, though never guaranteed.

Eight active · Eight passive · Sixteen unknown pathsEvery lost skill leaves a permanent stat bonus and Remnant points equal to its level. Spend those points on passive stats. The memories also empower a 12 second Manifestation with a 30 second cooldown.
Every replaced skill contributes its Remnant benefit. Bonuses with the same stat stack.
These bonuses stay with your character after replacement. Remnant points also strengthen Manifestation separately.

Move freely, manage fast regenerating mana and cooldowns, interrupt enemies, and commit to every dodge.
Protect two skills you cannot bear to lose. Everything else can become the beginning of a different build.
Choose one equipped skill before a hard boss. It is empowered for that fight. Victory consumes it and reveals three random replacements of the same skill type and kind.
Choose a skill to begin the wager.
Fight through changing enemy formations. Click an enemy’s Health bar or press Tab to change targets. Open the cache after each victory for Gold, Delve Shards and Focus XP. The first clear guarantees a skill; later clears have a 10% skill chance. Store drops in your stash and reshape your bar.
Defeat the Ash Warden and equip your replacement skill to unlock the dungeon.
